Isla Vista Theater

Isla Vista Theater is comprised of two theaters connected by a common lobby. The largest seats 525 persons, and the smaller seats 144. A lit outdoor courtyard serves as a reception area or a nice place to drink a cup of coffee before class. Unlike most on-campus classroom facilities, a team of student technicians staffs these two rooms full-time.

Both the larger and smaller rooms can suport a number of audio/visual needs, and because we have our own inventory, the equipment is always available. Most notable of this inventory, computer lecterns and data projectors allow an instructor or presenter the ability to project PowerPoint slides, web sites, or other digital media to their audiences. These lecterns house Windows based machines running Windows 2000 Professional and the Microsoft Office Suite. For your convenience, secondary connections allow us to hook up any laptop to this system. Please call or e-mail us with inquiries regarding your own particular needs.

Embarcadero Hall

Embarcadero Hall was designed as a premier lecture facility. It offers excellent acoustics and has great sight lines to the stage from its 247 seats. A lecturer can control all aspects of media presentation from the stage. The facility boasts a fully dimmable lighting system and a lectern that can be connected to a laptop computer for digital presentations.

The lectern contains a DVD player, a VHS player, a CD and cassette player, and remotes for operating dual slide projectors. There are six sliding chalkboards and three motorized screens. Overhead projectors are available. Data projection insures that images are large enough for all to see.

The space is staffed full time by a team of student technicians coordinated by a staff supervisor. Their mission is to be on time, reliable, courteous, and technically competent.

The building sits in Isla Vista in what was once the Bank of America building at 935 Embarcadero Del Norte.  The building has just undergone a major remodel offering many new features including a landscaped patio area. The building is bordered on three sides by Anisq'Oyo' and Pelican/Perfect parks. Parking is available on surface streets in Isla Vista or on campus (Lot 23- CSA permit) via Ocean Road.  The Hall is one block west of the main campus at the intersection of Madrid Road and Embarcadero Del Norte.

Please call or e-mail us with inquiries regarding your own particular needs.
